What made you Join The Hollywood flairz!

Well,
that’s a damn good question, one that has quite an unusual story behind
it. I knew Chuff from way back in the eighties, when he played drums in a swing band – yes
a swing band! The guitarist of this band was married, and his wife worked
with my Mum! My first
original band disbanded and created 2 different bands, Satyrs and Smashed
(I was the drummer for Satyrs), and a few years later and a few line up
changes in both bands, who should join Smashed but Chuff. This time
playing guitar and eventually he ended up singing too!
Both bands
eventually disbanded, and I didn’t see head nor tail of any of Smashed for
years! Anyway, near Christmas 2000 I was doing a Car Boot with me dear old
Dad, and who should walk up to our stall, but Chuff! (Looking for a
Britney CD for his daughter (so he told me, an item not to be found on my
stall!!!)
He told me about this
great band he was in (meaning
The Hollywood flairz!) and that their
current drummer was leaving soon due to a move down south – we exchanged
telephone numbers, and the rest is history! A pure story of
chance! |
